Cooerwull
Cooerwull is the original name of Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School and is now the name of the Association that recognises service to the school. It provides opportunities for current and past parents, staff and others who have served Ivanhoe Girls’ to meet socially and retain links to the School.
Membership is open to all persons who have been a committee member of an Ivanhoe Girls’ association or been a staff member at Ivanhoe Girls’ for five or more years.
Service is recognised at an annual presentation event where awards for various milestones of contribution to the School are presented.
Social occasions are also arranged to involve Cooerwull members in the current life of the School and to continue their links to each other and specific school activities.
Cooerwull is also the registered company through which financial donations to Ivanhoe Girls’, such as bequests, are recognised.
Two annual awards to students in Years 8 - 10 are offered each year by Cooerwull using interest from funds held. This is presented at Senior School Celebration Night.
Cooerwull members are developing a mentoring program to assist Alumni of Ivanhoe Girls’ with their career choices.
Parents joining one of Ivanhoe Girls’ Associations automatically commence their eligibility period for the five year qualification criteria. Financial donations can be made at any time and these also provide Cooerwull membership.
