Mothers' Association
The Mothers’ Association was established in 1926 and aims to inform and connect members, support the interests and welfare of the School and the girls through various social events and fundraising.
Meetings are held in the Boardroom and will be on the second Wednesday or Friday of each month. Dates confirmed in the Ivanhoe Girls’ 2008 parent calendar. A regular feature of most meetings is a guest speaker from the School community.
The Mothers’ Association hosts the two Welcome Morning Teas at the beginning of Term 1 in the Pit. The first Morning Tea is for Year 7 parents on the Year 7 girls’ first day and the second Morning Tea is on the following School day for all new parents, however any parents are most welcome to attend.
Annual events that we traditionally have long standing roles in supporting are: Open Day, the Art & Craft Show, the Junior School Family Disco, the Year 11 Supper Dance and the Year 12 Graduation Ball.
Our two major social events are the Mothers’ Day Luncheon in May and the Christmas Luncheon held in Hillsley in late November – all are welcome.
At Celebration Night we proudly contribute book prizes for VCE Health & Human Development and for Food Technology. At Junior School Celebration Night we also proudly make presentations to the Junior School Captains and present the Junior School Citizenship Award and the Jeannie McLiesh Award.
Second Life Uniform Shop
Our primary fundraiser is the Second Life Uniform Shop where good quality, clean second hand uniforms are bought and sold.
The shop is open each Thursday from 3.00pm-4.00pm, during the School term only. It is located upstairs above the new Uniform Shop: Robinson, House 125 Marshall Street.
Second Hand Book Sale
We also organise the very successful Second Hand Book Sale where good quality used text books are available for Senior School students. This operates on the Year 7 Orientation Day late in Term 4.
New members are most welcome. For further enquiries regarding any aspect of the Mothers’ Association please contact:
