Parents & Friends' Association

The Parents and Friends’ Association is a group of parents and friends who meet on the first Tuesday of each month during term time. Meetings are held in the Boardroom at 123 Marshall Street, Ivanhoe at 8.00pm.

The Parents and Friends’ Association has a number of key objectives which include:

• fundraising for the development of educational facilities;
• arranging and assisting with activities for students, staff and parents;
• promoting awareness of educational issues; and
• encouraging a sense of fellowship amongst parents.

Involvement in the Association provides an opportunity to raise and discuss important issues as well as gain an invaluable insight into how the School operates.

The Parents and Friends’ Association is an active organisation whose primary objective is to offer support and encouragement for the girls of Ivanhoe Girls’. Our members assist at School functions which include the Year 7 BBQ, Open Day, seminars and provide supper at the Year 12 Valedictory Service. We organise an annual Trivia Night which provides a relaxed and fun-filled environment to mingle with other parents and friends of the School.

Through fundraising events the Association is able to provide student grants to support students in their endeavours as well as purchase specialised equipment for student use. We contribute book prizes for Year 12 Physics, Business Studies and Literature which are awarded at Celebration Night. We also sponsor students for outstanding effort and achievement.

All parents, staff, past students and their parents are automatically members of the Association. New parents are very welcome and are encouraged to join the Committee and become actively involved in the School community.
