In Term 4, our Kinder learners transformed into Habitat Detectives, diving into an inquirybased exploration of animal environments. With the help of their families, the children ventured outdoors to observe wildlife and gather clues – capturing photos of animals in their natural habitats or signs of recent visits.
“My daddy saw a possum in the park when he went for a run in the dark!”
Maddy
“We went on a bush walk and found animal tracks!”
Milly
“There was possum poo on the ground, so we knew that possums had been.”
Maddison
Back in the classroom, the children brought their discoveries to life by designing an imaginative animal habitat right inside our Kinder room.
We were thrilled to welcome the team from Wild Action, who introduced us to a variety of native Australian animals. Their visit sparked a flurry of questions and thoughtful conversations about caring for Country and protecting our precious wildlife.
This was the children’s second Wild Action visit this year, and it was heartwarming to see how much they’ve grown in confidence and curiosity since Term 1.
“I didn’t want to touch or hold anything when I was little. But I did this time!”
Sue
“I gave it all a try!”
