Why Ivanhoe Girls'? Leadership and Service

Throughout their time at Ivanhoe Girls', students are given many opportunities to develop important leadership experience, and contribute to their community in many ways.

From their earliest years at Ivanhoe Girls', students are encouraged to accept leadership positions. They are encouraged to show their ability to be responsible, to get along with others, to be confident, to organise and to lead and to support the leadership of others.

In Junior School, students have many opportunities to grow through leadership positions, and build confidence through public speaking events such as assemblies and church services, music performances, theatrical productions and the School Ambassador program.

In addition, a strong focus on social service enhances a sense of community, kindness and wellbeing amongst peers.

In Senior School, leadership skills are developed in sporting teams, cultural pursuits and student representative groups where students are appointed or elected to positions of significant responsibility.

Ivanhoe Girls' places great emphasis on affirming and celebrating accomplishment gained through hard work, determination, team work and perseverance.

Our students take on the responsibility of helping others all over the world, by getting involved in many charitable causes, and participating in community service to assist our neighbouring institutions and local hospitals. They become compassionate contributors to their community and the world, committed to social justice, sustainability and philanthropy.
