Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School offers a range of scholarships:

• Academic Scholarships for entry to Year 5 and Year 7
• Music Scholarships for entry to Years 5 through to Year 11
• VCE Excellence Scholarships for entry to Year 10 and Year 11.

VCE EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

Ivanhoe Girls’ offers VCE Excellence Scholarships for students who will be in either Year 10 or 11 in 2010. These scholarships are open to both current students and those not attending Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School.

All applicants will be required to sit an academic scholarship test conducted by Robert Allwell and Associates.

The final selection of the successful candidates for the VCE Excellence Scholarships will be made at an interview, where additional factors will be considered including:

• Overall academic performance and future potential
• Achievement and involvement in other areas of excellence such as performing arts, visual arts, sport, music, debating and other relevant areas
  
• Citizenship, including community service
• Leadership

Applications open: Tuesday 15 June, 2010.

Test date: Saturday 19 June, 2010.

Academic Scholarships for entry to Year 5 and Year 7

Year 7
The School offers Scholarships to students entering Year 7 in 2011. These Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit. There is no age limit for entry, but a candidate must enter Year 7 in 2011 and therefore will be in Year 6 in 2010. The scholarship tenure is for the 6 years of secondary school at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School.

Year 5
The School offers Scholarships to students entering Year 5 in 2011. These Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit. There is no age limit for entry, but a candidate must enter Year 5 in 2011 and therefore will be in Year 4 in 2010 The scholarship tenure is for the final two years of primary school and 6 years of secondary school at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School.

All applicants will be required to sit an academic scholarship test conducted by Robert Allwell and Associates

Music Scholarships

Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School also offers Music Scholarships to current students and new students entering Years 5-11, 2011.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an audition (similar to AMEB exam). The minimum standard (AMEB Grade level or equivalent) suggested for audition selection is:

Students in Years 4 – 6 (2010)
An A grade pass in:	Grade 4 Piano Grade 4 Strings Grade 3 Wind/Brass/Percussion
Students in Year 7 – 10 (2010)
An A grade pass in:	Grade 5 Piano Grade 5 Strings Grade 4 Wind/Brass/Percussion

Applications open November 2010.

Applications close: Tuesday 9 March 2010.

Audition dates: Monday 22 March and Tuesday 23 March (to be confirmed).
