House Performing Arts (HPA) has always been my favourite House Carnival of the year because it’s a great showcase of the creativity and spirit across all the six Houses.
2025 was especially exciting as I had the opportunity to be an Open Representative alongside Sofia Walton. Together, we chose the music and created the choreography for our dance, and I’m especially grateful for Sofia’s amazing dance skills which helped shape the whole performance.
Putting the routine together came with its challenges. We had limited rehearsal time, people were away across different Year Levels, and at times it felt like we were really racing the clock. Despite this, the support and commitment from everyone in Oswald House made a huge difference, and slowly but surely the performance started to come together.
The atmosphere on the day was incredible. Having HPA run as a full-day carnival for the first time built so much anticipation, and you could feel the energy growing throughout the morning. By the time we performed, it truly felt like the whole House was behind us.
After coming so close last year, getting the win this year made the moment even more satisfying and memorable. The excitement that spread through Oswald when the results were announced is something I’ll always remember, and it showed just how strong our House Spirit really is.
