On Monday 3 August, the Year 12 Prefect Team held our final Prefect Assembly, marking a meaningful milestone in our leadership journey. As we prepared to conclude our time as student leaders, we wanted to ensure our Year 12 motto, 'Here To Be Heard', left a lasting impact on the School community. Although the assembly began with a few technical hiccups involving the music and microphones, it quickly won over the audience and proved to be a huge success.
We continued with our ongoing segment, ‘Prefect Idea of Motto’, sharing the many ways in which ‘Here To Be Heard’ can be interpreted. We enjoyed a beautiful musical performance from our Music Captain, Miles, and ran a lively 1-minute challenge to practice our listening and communication skills. It was so fun hearing students share their most embarrassing moments.
My personal highlight was introducing our new segment, ‘Staff Spotlight’, which gives everyone a chance to learn more about the people who make up our School community and I am excited to see how this grows throughout the term. I walked away feeling incredibly proud of our team and inspired to think even more about how we can continue making space for student voices to be heard this term.
