I am pleased to share with our community that Kerrie Haynes has been elected Chair of the Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School Board, following the conclusion of Karen Frost’s third term in the role. Kerrie brings to this position a wealth of experience, longstanding connection to the School, and a deep understanding of its culture and values.
A former student (Class of 1983) and past parent, Kerrie has served on the Board for more than 25 years across two tranches, first joining in 1995. In that time, she has held a number of key roles, including Treasurer since 2016 and Vice President since 2021. Her service was formally recognised last year when she was awarded Life Governorship of the School — a significant honour that reflects her enduring commitment and impact.
Kerrie’s leadership is marked by strategic insight, clarity, and a genuine care for the wellbeing and future of the School. Her contributions have been instrumental in shaping key decisions and initiatives, and she has worked closely with fellow Board members and School leadership to help guide Ivanhoe Girls’ through both steady progress and more complex challenges.
On behalf of the Ivanhoe Girls’ community, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Karen Frost for her outstanding leadership as Chair over the past nine years. Karen’s time in the role has been characterised by thoughtful stewardship, strong governance, and a deep personal investment in the life of the School. Under her leadership, Ivanhoe Girls’ has navigated a period of growth and challenge, including the significant uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic. Karen’s measured and strategic guidance has been instrumental during this time, and we are delighted that Karen will continue to serve the School community in the role of Vice Chair. Her ongoing contribution and experience remain a valued asset to the Board and the School more broadly.
I look forward to working closely with Kerrie in her new role as Chair and know you will join me in thanking both Kerrie and Karen for their exceptional service to Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School.
