There is always a special energy that accompanies the start of Term 4. While the final term of the year is often one of our busiest, it is also one of the most rewarding. Across the School there is a sense of anticipation as students and staff return ready to embrace the opportunities, challenges and celebrations that lie ahead. The coming weeks will see our community come together for a range of significant milestones and events, from the opening of the ELC – Year 12 Creative Arts Exhibition on Monday 12 October and the Spring Concert on Tuesday 27 October, to our Junior School Celebration Night on Wednesday 18 November and Senior School Celebration Night on Monday 30 November.
For our Year 12 students, this term marks the culmination of their school journey. Their final day at school on Friday 16 October will be a significant milestone, providing an opportunity to celebrate their achievements, reflect on the contribution they have made to the life of the School and acknowledge the relationships, experiences and memories that have shaped their time at Ivanhoe Girls'. As they prepare for their final examinations and look towards life beyond school, we are immensely proud of all they have accomplished and all they have become. Their journey will culminate in our Valedictory Service and Dinner on Thursday 3 December, when we formally farewell the Class of 2026 and wish them every success for the future.
Term 4 is also an important time of transition for many other students. Our Year 6 students will celebrate their graduation from Junior School with a special morning tea on Friday 11 December, while our Year 11 students begin preparing for the academic and leadership opportunities that come with becoming the most senior students of the School, including the announcement of our 2027 Prefect Team and School Captains.
The term also provides many opportunities to celebrate student creativity and achievement. The Creative Arts Exhibition and Spring Concert will showcase the extraordinary breadth of talent across the School, while our Celebration Nights will provide an opportunity to recognise the growth, accomplishments and contributions of students throughout the year. These occasions are important reminders that learning extends far beyond the classroom and reflects the commitment, creativity and participation that enrich life at Ivanhoe Girls'.
I look forward to sharing the many highlights of the term with you in the weeks ahead. Thank you, as always, to our students, staff and families for the enthusiasm, commitment and support you bring to our community. Together, we look forward to finishing the year strongly and celebrating all that has been achieved in 2026.
