Reflections on a Busy Term
Welcome to our first ELC Newsletter for this year. These Newsletters are produced at the end of each term as a way to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of the children over that term. Please remember to check the fortnightly whole School Newsletter as there is always a section from the ELC which includes important reminders and updates.
When I wrote this Term 1 ELC Newsletter twelve months ago, the first lockdown and offsite learning was just about to commence. There are all sorts of emotions thinking back over the last year and what we have collectively experienced. There is also a sense of gratitude and appreciation that this year we have been able to build and strengthen relationships with our ELC community whilst onsite. I feel hopeful that we will continue as we have started and 2021 will have a much greater sense of normality.
We are thrilled to have such an enthusiastic group of parent helpers this year. Sadly, we were unable to start the year together at our Welcome Picnic, but a huge thank you to our group of parent representatives who have done a great job in already organising some events.
I’d like to thank the ELC staff for all their hard work this term. Term 1 is always a busy one as we get to know new families, conduct home visits and settle children in to their program. There was also a great deal of work behind the scenes to ensure we presented the ELC beautifully for Open Day. We were all thrilled with the positive feedback received and the enrolments that have already come in on the strength of this day.
On behalf of the ELC team, we wish you all a very happy Easter and a break from the School routine. The first day of Term 2 is Tuesday 20 April. We look forward to seeing you then.
