With 23 member schools spread across Melbourne, GSV provides over 16,000 students with opportunities to participate in more than 20 sports. Since joining in 2001, Ivanhoe Girls’ has embraced GSV’s mission to promote inclusivity, teamwork, and a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.
The School’s sporting culture goes beyond competition, focusing on participation and personal growth. Students from Years 5 to 12 regularly compete in sporting fixtures which include the Carnival Sport, Weekly Sport, and Special Events arms of the GSV program.
In 2025, Ivanhoe Girls’ celebrated some outstanding achievements, including teams qualifying as finalists in Softball, Netball, Hockey, Basketball, and Badminton, individual students claiming medals at the GSV Athletics and Swimming Finals Nights, and representatives selected for the GSV Soccer and Softball teams. Junior students also made their mark, competing at the Years 5 and 6 Athletics and Swimming Carnivals. We look forward to the addition of the Years 5 and 6 Cross Country Carnival in 2026.
With state-of-the-art facilities and a commitment to fostering connection, curiosity and bravery, Ivanhoe Girls’ continues to empower young women through sport. Our involvement in GSV reflects a broader philosophy: success is measured not only by trophies but by effort, inclusion, and the joy of participation.
