Our Old Grammarians' Association is friendly and informative way for past students to stay connected with the School and fellow students.
The Ivanhoe Girls' Old Grammarians Association (IGOGA) invites all past students to become IGOGA Members when they leave the School.
The IGOGA is a vibrant community that fosters lifelong relationships among our graduates. Benefits and opportunities for Members of the IGOGA network include:
President: Sue Lees (Class of 1975)
Secretary: Mikaela Haynes (Class of 2017)
E: igoga@ivanhoegirls.vic.edu.au
The Old Girls' Association was formed in 1923. In 1965 the name was officially changed to 'Ivanhoe Girls' Old Grammarians' Association', although the term 'Old Girls' is still used. The constitution, which was drafted in 1924, is reviewed on a regular basis.
The Association has always worked closely with the School - helping with reunions, fundraising, archives, career nights, and more. Many Old Grammarians have become staff members, active parents, and they have also represented the Association on the School Board as nominees and elected members.
In continuing the link with the School, the Association has donated many gifts. Permanent gifts include gold School Captain badges, Jean Chapman Memorial Arts and Craft prizes, and Elspeth Dean and Jean Willey Memorial awards.
There are over 2,000 members of IGOGA, and we always take pride in looking after them.
The Golden Mitre Rose
IGOGA has a rose named Golden Mitre. It was first bred by Mr Ron Bell of the Australian Rose Breeders Association. The rose is yellow but fades to lemon as the flower opens. It is hardy and flowers regularly.
